SPIE Belgium supplies, installs and maintains traffic light management equipment in Flanders
In 1983, De Lijn (Antwerp) requested the design of a product capable of detecting and identifying public transport (at the time, only trams) and integrating the necessary controls. Since that very first project more than forty years ago, SPIE Belgium's product (AISY: Audio Identification System) has grown spectacularly thanks to regular updates and the latest technologies, eventually conquering the whole of Flanders. In addition to De Lijn (trams and buses), hospitals and universities also use AISY, for example to automate their barriers.
In short: SPIE Belgium has long been involved in the development, installation and maintenance of intelligent solutions that use technology to meet the challenges facing society.
SPIE Belgium has been awarded a contract by the AWV (Flemish government, roads and transport department) as part of a public procurement process. This contract includes the maintenance of existing installations and the construction of new installations throughout Flanders. SPIE Belgium has also won other contracts in France (Bordeaux, Marseille, Toulouse, Rouen, Nice and Lyon) and Luxembourg.
