The Harbour House of Antwerp was able to benefit from the expertise of SPIE Belgium in Building Information Modelling (BIM). Thanks to this advanced technology, various units of SPIE were able to cooperate in this prestigious project of the architect Zaha Hadid.
The Harbour House is the new headquarters of the Antwerp Port Authority (Havenbedrijf), which houses some 500 employees. It is also a daily meeting place of the Antwerp harbour community.
SPIE Belgium was tasked by the port authority with the HVAC installation of the entire building. Both the coordination and the development of the worksite benefited from the BIM work environment.
The architectural complexity of the building and very tight schedule required flawless coordination of the different techniques concerned, one of the most important winning assets of BIM. This type of digital modelling enables the teams of SPIE to optimize the organization of work, but also to ensure the safety thereof.
