Brussels, 30th January 2020 – SPIE Belgium, a subsidiary of the SPIE group, the independent European leader in multi-technical services in the areas of energy and communications, has been named ‘Top Employer Belgium’ for the thirteenth time, including 10 consecutive years.
On 4th February, SPIE Belgium will receive its official Top Employer 2020 certification from the Top Employers Institute, the global certification company, at a prestigious awards ceremony at the Hôtel de la Poste T & T, Brussels. It will thus join the 75 companies accredited by the Top Employers Institute in Belgium.
This is the thirteenth time SPIE Belgium has been named a Top Employer - including ten consecutive years - and the element that really sets it apart is its optimised recruitment strategy. SPIE Belgium thus created 252 jobs in 2019, primarily through innovative recruitment methods, an internal head-hunter, professional, targeted communication on social media and regular contact with applicants.
SPIE Belgium also launched the Group’s programme for rolling out the leadership principles, aimed at defining and assessing its managers’ key skills. In 2020, SPIE Belgium will continue setting up a development plan for its managers. Alongside its recruitment strategy and principles of leadership, SPIE Belgium has also continued its drive with regard to continuing professional development and integration of new staff members.
Annik Vandeputte, HR Development Manager at SPIE Belgium, had this to say on the subject: “SPIE Belgium has once again shown in 2019 that it has earned its place as one of Belgium's Top Employers. In 2020, we will also make the recruitment of technical profiles a central priority and will create the best conditions within our company for each staff member, at every level of the business, to really get a sense of fulfilment in a favourable working environment.”
SPIE Belgium was assessed on rigorous selection criteria, such as the working environment, talent development and the improvement in HR practices. As part of this certification process, SPIE also took part in the "HR Best Practices Survey", covering 10 themes and assessing no fewer than 600 HR practices.
The Top Employers Institute was set up over 25 years ago as a global certification body that honours excellence in the staff working conditions offered by employers. Since its establishment, the Top Employers Institute has certified over 1,300 organisations in 115 countries.
